As much of a shitshow as this is, the rules are pretty clear:
Not sure Senegal have a leg to stand on hereCaf added that "through the conduct of its team" Senegal infringed on Article 82 of regulations of the Africa Cup of Nations and as a result Article 84 became applicable.
Article 82 states that if a team refuses to play or leaves the field before the end of regulation time without the referee's authorisation, it will be considered the loser and eliminated from the competition.
Article 84 complements this provision, stating that any team that violates Articles 82 will be permanently eliminated and will lose the match 3-0.

It's been handled really well. It seems the issue at hand was "did they walk off the pitch?" I believe there was some footage of this and they have managed to track it down.
The time frame has managed to make VAR look pretty speedy and the application of pure common sense is something PGMOL would be proud of too.

Anything in the regulations about fixing the match and whole tournament for the host team to win? Let's not forget why they walked off the pitch

If they were going to reach this conclusion (wrongly in my opinion), I have no idea why on earth it took eight weeks. The wording of the judgement could have been written that night.

You cant impliment the rules 2 months later. The ref failed to call it on the night not sure how you then re ref in months down the line. Are we doing it with all incidents now
