Always came a across as a genuine type of fella, its a bit sad really

Sad news. Came across as quite a genuine, likeable guy, who was just hugely passionate about football.

I'm too young to associate him with Liverpool TBH. My fondest memories of him was that Newcastle side and the extremely entertaining gung ho football he played. Les Ferdinand, David Ginola, Faustino Asprilla and Peter Beardsley - very fun to watch.

Always liked him.

Maybe my hatred for the other side had not yet developed at the time but I liked him. As others have said, always seemed to be a genuine good guy. RIP.

When ever I think of Keegan I think of the 1982 Admiral kit with the red and blue stripes across the top. Proper legend or both the old football league and the Premier League.

I’m going to give a shout out to his Man City team when he managed them in the championship.

Championship football was on ITV back in those days and his city team was great fun.

Yeah, difficult to dislike and that Newcastle team he put together was great to watch. His return in 2008 I have somehow completely blanked from my memory.

Always came across very honest and genuine and one of very few in that era to succeed hands down playing abroad.
