Can't say I'm expecting much from next season. Think it's guaranteed that Arsenal, City, Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs will finish ahead of us as the Sky6.

Bournemouth, Sunderland, Brighton and Palace all are in Europe and some with new managers, which does give us a fair chance of finishing above them even if they're better than us

Brentford, Fulham, Newcastle, Leeds, Forest - Maybe we finish above 3 or 4 of these?

I'm assuming we'll finish above the three promoted teams.

So I reckon 9th-12th is probably most likely. Squad can be improved but I don't think there's much reason to believe Moyes is going to be any different than usual. I'm sure when something is genuinely on the line that we'll crumble.

Out of both cups with a whimper. Moyes to go on to Scotland as his contract runs out at the end of the season.

12th -14th. Reevaluate after transfer window.

Not great expectations.

As usual, will wait until the transfer window finishes before hazarding a guess.

Now? Probably similar, 11th-14th.

Right now anywhere from 10 to 17 with 3-4 good signings could challenge for Europe

Depends on which Moyes turns up.

If he’s at his dullest and most conservative, it’s midtable boredom or just avoiding relegation.

If he has a bit of a spark and picks a team to play more on the deck and work those wide overloads, I think we can qualify for Europe.

All contingent on getting a natural right back in, of course. That helps us in every phase - in build-up and attack by replacing O’Brien’s lack of contribution with the ball and in defense by replacing Tarkowski or Keane with O’Brien (we have an excellent defensive record under Moyes as long as one of the two CBs has a bit of pace).

All the pieces are there for a crack at the Europa League.

Managerial transitions at Bournemouth and Fulham.

Newcastle burning their midfield down and starting anew.

Sunderland, who I already thought were a bit lucky to finish where they did, now coping with the additional demands of European football.

I’d expect better from Chelsea and Spurs and Forest could be difficult if Glasner gets his system functioning.

But we are extremely settled, the most we’ve been going into a new season in forever. Nobody to blame but ourselves if it’s another mediocre season.

Start poorly and he might be sacked by Christmas, and then who knows who we get in and how things go.

If we start ok I would expect 10th-15th.

If we start badly but they keep Moyes on I could see us being in vague danger of relegation, but probably avoiding it with a few games to spare.

It’s Moyes, my default assumption is we’re going to start badly.

Ugh, ikr, it’s what I’m expecting really, but I can see him getting a shit ton of grace.

Slow start in the league, out of the League Cup early, hit peak form before the festive period, pick up a ton of points while other clubs falter, find ourselves in an exciting position for the run in, come up short.

The most common arc to a Moyes season.

He’s delivered more than this before, hopefully he can put together one of his better seasons. I’d be happy with another deep FA Cup run and Europa contention.

Probably mid table boredom and missed opportunities to play young promising talent more often.

My one big concern is our extremely poor run in the last 7-8 games of last season. I hope there is a good plan to address that and that form doesn’t continue into the new season. Otherwise it could turn into 2022-2023 again.

My standards have been significantly lowered.

If we finish somewhere similar, but playing better, balanced, cohesive football with players in the right positions - I’ll count that as a big improvement.
