Trippier a youthful right back
Re: Summer Transfer Window Discussion
Athletic saying we're interested in Trippier on a loan deal.
Kieran Trippier wants to leave Newcastle United before the transfer window closes, with Everton among the clubs keen to sign the England full-back.
Trippier was the first recruit by the new ownership on Tyneside in January 2022 and has played a central role in the club’s rise.
But the 33-year-old was an unused substitute in Saturday’s opening-weekend victory over Southampton after Eddie Howe decided to select Tino Livramento at right-back.
Trippier also saw the captain’s armband he has worn for most of his time at St. James’ Park handed to team-mate Bruno Guimaraes.
The former Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur defender, who turns 34 next month, has two years left on his contract — a new deal was done last season — but wishes to explore fresh opportunities that will provide regular first-team football.
Everton intend to strengthen in Trippier’s favoured position and have held initial conversations with Newcastle to express interest in bringing him to Merseyside on loan.
Everton manager Sean Dyche and Trippier worked together while at Burnley between 2012-2015.
Newcastle rebuffed interest from Bayern Munich in January while there have been talks about moving to the Saudi Pro League but an agreement is yet to materialise.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Discussion
I'd be all over Trippier on a loan deal, if he'd be willing to drop down to our level.
Re: Summer Transfer Window Discussion
Oh that is interesting.
He’s a brilliant player, but hasn’t had a good 12 months.
Legs might have gone, but would still be up for it.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Discussion
Dyche will do everything to get him. Would be buzzing with a loan for him.
Only issue is we'd give him a contract at 34 and think that's RB sorted for the next 5 years.

@AndSeel went early with a separate thread, so merged the posts. If it goes tits up then please direct all your hate and bile towards them
Re: Trippier a youthful right back
£120k a week. Trippier or Newcastle need to take a bit hit on that to make it work.

Re: Trippier a youthful right back
I'd be absolutely made up with that on loan, would give dyche one of his reliable weapons
Re: Trippier a youthful right back
If the costs is good for us, he's an upgrade on what we have even at 33/34. Allows us to send Dixon on loan and enable us 12 months to sort out a replacement.
