Re: Jadon Philogene
Makes sense on a permanent, Dyche has at most 5 months left here and hopefully a lot less!
He's looked dreadful for Villa tbh but was highly rated before that
Re: Jadon Philogene
Emery was pretty scathing of him too:
"He has a potential and he didn’t show his potential in the first six months being with us," Emery said of Philogene last week. "He played some important matches, against Bayern Munich and Manchester United. At that moment he was more or less given the opportunity to show his progress. He didn’t do it clearly and was playing less, but I believe in his potential.
"It (a loan) is one option for him and the club because there are lots of clubs interested in him. They believe in his potential. We are not close [to agreeing a loan] and as a coach I am not really wanting to let him leave, but we are speaking about the different options. Maybe it could be an option [loan].

Well if he has no ambition and doesn't want to progress as a player Dyches coaching will be perfect for him.

Re: Jadon Philogene
The bench cushions being warmer in Merseyside than in Birmingham could be another motivation for him

He's obviously seen the new top notch subs seats at Bramley Moor.Free Agent wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2025 11:17 am The bench cushions being warmer in Merseyside than in Birmingham could be another motivation for him

Me and you have different interpretations of the word “scathing”Raptor wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2025 11:00 am Emery was pretty scathing of him too:

Re: Jadon Philogene
He's looked really poor every time I've seen him for Villa.
But, he was a target 6 months ago so we must believe in his potential and can't ser why that would change just because he has struggled in his first few months in a new league with a new club.
If I remember correctly he prefers the RW which is good for us.
Cant see him doing well here under Dyche where he'll have no fullback overlapping and providing support.

Re: Jadon Philogene
Seem to remember him profiling well defensively so I think he’d be fine under Dyche (preferably under someone else).
Was disappointed he went to a Villa side that didn’t really need him. I always believe in good, young Championship players making the leap and we should be able to offer regular games to help him get acclimated to this level.
He’ll have more space to play in here too since all of our most “promising” opportunities from open play are on the break. Villa spend way more time trying to break down organized defenses which was maybe not the cleanest transition for a player leaving a poor Hull side.

Re: Jadon Philogene
Unless we are / can send Harrison back we won't be able to loan this guy so either that's happening or we have actual money to spend.
Re: Jadon Philogene
If we have money to spend I don’t think all of it would go on him
So, we might have a bit more than we think!!
