Hes awful, a lower league player. Even in the games people are claiming he was olay he did nothing in attack and rode his luck defensively.

I think the o brien patterson debate misses the point. Neither should be playing right back for a premier league side

I get it, he added balance to the team and did 'ok' in 1/2 games, but Keane was more than ok for most of the season and I'd pay extra to ensure we don't see him again next season.
Mate Charly Alcaraz has blood on his hands 2x over for that one.

Even without the slip Patterson wouldn't have got to Doku. As you say, bizarre to pin that one on Patterson given Alcaraz's weak attempt at closing him down.

Alright? It's still painful watching him scramble about getting nowhere near his man.

I wasn't pinning it on him, just saying it was painful watching him fall over in his attempt to react.

But ok, let's analyse it, Doku was only ever going to drive in that direction, Guehi was running away from goal and was obviously getting out of Doku's way and he's failed to read any of that. So you're right, the slip had nothing to do with it, he wasn't getting there because he has the defensive instincts of a toad.

He fell over? That’s not a conscious decision like I dunno, hearing the ball into play against the best ball playing side in the land, in the 98th minute when we need to hold on to secure a vital 3 points.

Are you referencing another moment in the game from him or someone else? What's that got to do with Patterson being clumsy?

I'm just glad Keane is off the hook for his 'clearance' to Sarr because there was no way that was conscious decision.

Patterson was a rb not saying he is a world beater but it’s his natural position and anytime this season where Moyes had to play him he/we did fine should have played way more especially after branthwaite injury where Jake should have been cb instead of Keane

Be happy with this

📰 La Repubblica in 🇮🇹 are suggesting that Genoa are once again interested in signing Everton right-back Nathan Patterson.

Patterson, who has been picked for Scotland’s World Cup squad but is deemed surplus to requirements at Hill Dickinson Stadium, came close to joining the Serie A outfit on deadline day in January.

Intriguingly, this once again opens up the possibility of a swap deal, given Everton were interested in Genoa right-back Brooke Norton-Cuffy in the same transfer window.

I don’t think Patto is a terrible player but he isn’t up to the standard of defending that is required in the PL. Many players aren’t but then thrive in other leagues.

I even think the Bundesliga might be a decent fit. Or if that’s not quite right in terms of level, then the championship, Scotland or the Netherlands could work.

We could still get decent money for him and as we know, that right back position has to be sorted this summer. You surely cant have another year with JOB there.

Linked with Sheffield United, albeit only if they can't sign Kyle Walker.
