Thought it was very interesting that he said that last season was ultimately a failure, and that the Friedkins viewed it as a failure. Said the Friedkins had been on the blower applying ''appropriate pressure'' to improve. Also no contract discussions so far with Moyes.

Points to Moyes being under pressure unless he starts the season well.

We've only lost Gana (as brilliant as he is/was) and I rate Nørgaard to fill that hole pretty well. Dwight?

Brought in Johnson, Hackney, and the kids seem to be improving a fair bit. Retained our quality so far.

I agree we're still lacking 1 or 2 of top quality, but depth that we can call on has improved significantly.

Expect there's 1 or 2 more to go.

We’re in a strange limbo where we haven’t done anything bad on the footballing side but haven’t done anything good either.

I broadly like the business we’ve done under the Friedkins and the squad we’re building.

Feels like we’re only a manager and a couple of choice additions away from jumping to the top of the 7th-15th logjam (super fine margins separating these clubs) and being on the heels of the top 6.

I also can’t really tell what my own expectations are because of where the bar was dragged under Moshiri.

We should aspire to be in Europe but it feels like a privilege to have a starting lineup I mostly like and players on the bench I actually want to watch after so many years of not having a coherent starting eleven.

For all the kids improving, which I agree and have lots of hope for, we've also got the ageing centre backs, left back getting worse. I can't see how the squad is stronger at this point in time

After the "Happily Dissatisfied" comment then think any goodwill with Kinnear is gone and there's not much reason to believe anything he says isn't nonsense. Fair play if we go on a mad one but less convincing if we end up signing Johnston on the final day

Its like were being managed as a club with stabilisers on. Papa Friedkin taking baby steps with us.

We haven’t done anything yet that makes me feel disgusted the way so much business done under Moshiri did.

I do wonder how long that can sustain me personally but it’s enough for now.
