The Rebuild
Re: The Rebuild
If Keanes happy to be 4th choice here im not against him being around for 2 more years. He should be playing somewhere for his sake, everyone else i want to stay anyway. Squad game and all.
Re: The Rebuild
We could sign a random league one player for £1m and he'd be better for us than Keane in all likelihood. The bloke has been an utter liability. He's been here about 8 years and only played well under Carlo. If we aren't taking this moment to part with Michael Keane then I give up.

Re: The Rebuild
It’s just absolutely fucking time. For Michael Keane to leave.
Seems a lovely bloke, must be ok for money by now, think he should go be Pirlo for someone in League 1, have a great time, have great games every week and feel proud of himself.

Wasn’t Keane on West Ham’s wanted list a couple of seasons ago? ………… when Moyes was in charge

Re: The Rebuild
I mean come on why would he ever go and play in league 1. He could play for all 4 of the sides potentially prompted to the premier league this seasonToddacelli wrote: ↑Sun May 18, 2025 5:39 am It’s just absolutely fucking time. For Michael Keane to leave.

Yes he was, this has been in the back of my mind for a while now.Bluebridge wrote: ↑Sun May 18, 2025 6:15 am Wasn’t Keane on West Ham’s wanted list a couple of seasons ago? ………… when Moyes was in charge![]()
I actually agree with whoever posted about him being a great 4th choice CB, but we can't afford to pay the wages he'd ask for to continue being 4th choice, we just don't have those kind of funds available.
He needs to go play too, even if it's stepping down a division or moving abroad. Zero point in him staying here as 4th choice at this stage of his career.
Would be a great move to go to the MLS imo although he hasn't been linked with that so imagine he'll be looking for another Premier League club.

Re: The Rebuild
I wonder if Burnley would fancy him back, I know they had a fantastic defence last season, but premier league is a different kettle of fish.

Re: The Rebuild
He could and possibly might. But he’ll be as shit for them as he was for us. I just reckon he’d enjoy his footy more if he dropped a level or two and competed for things. He’s a bit of a baller and it’s sad to see him scrap for survival all the time and be a scapegoat. His career seems to be very negative to me, on the outside looking in obviously, and I think a change would be good. But he may not want that for himself.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Sun May 18, 2025 6:51 am I mean come on why would he ever go and play in league 1. Re: The Rebuild
Just putting this out there, but describing a guy who's played 251 Premier League games and 14 international as a League One player is maybe taking it a step too far?Toddacelli wrote: ↑Sun May 18, 2025 9:26 am He could and possibly might. I get he has his issues as a player but he's a hell of a lot better than League One standard.
He's a lower Premier League / promotion chasing Championship standard defender who probably could comfortably play in the top league in Germany, Italy or France... He's a long way from League One.

Re: The Rebuild
I wasn’t meaning to describe him as a League 1 player (although I realise I sort of did), I was meaning that there must be other leagues he’s better suited to, too ones like you mentioned, where he could boss it and challenge for honours.AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Sun May 18, 2025 9:40 am Just putting this out there, but describing a guy who's played 251 Premier League games and 14 international as a League One player is maybe taking it a step too far?

Re: The Rebuild
I actually hate how poor this team is. The Ipswich match was a 4-0er (they're currently losing comfortably at Leicester) that they somehow blew and drew 2-2.
Today we've only won 2-0 against a woeful Southampton side that couldn't be arsed and really could have made it closer in that second half. Should have absolutely blew them away 5-0 in those circumstances. If Illi is out of the team for Harrison then I don't even think we win that game today.
Massive massive work to do.
