Beto

What? We don't do kneejerk reactions around here?!Toddacelli wrote: ↑Wed Aug 20, 2025 12:20 pm I don’t think anyone is basing their assessment of Beto on one game, and I also think everyone is aware that we did not play to his strengths.
Seriously though, he had a terrible game. Next time he has a good game there will be people saying that he was amazing and we should stick with him. Rinse and repeat ad infinitum.
Re: Beto
Doesn't matter either way, he was absolutely fucking shit regardless of if he played 60 mins or 85.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Wed Aug 20, 2025 2:06 pm The thing that helped him least by a significant margin was moyes not subbing him. His performance wouldn't be mentioned a 10th as much if moyes had just subbed him like he should. The vast majority of this is on the manager
To put the vast majority of blame for a player not even trying to compete on the manager seems like an odd angle to take.

If you can see it and I can see it and there's a like for like sub then it's absolutely mainly on the manager

Re: Beto
In Beto’s defence , Mondays performance wasn’t typical of him so hopefully that was just a one off.
Just seemed to me that his head was down for whatever reason the other night, didn’t have the same fight that he would usually have
The lack of control and rough edges to his game maybe I would expect more, but Beto is usually all heart and fight so was odd to see that side of his game missing

Re: Beto
It’s a shit market to try and replace a striker right now as a lot of clubs are also looking after losing their own (Brentford, Newcastle etc) and most have already movedbrap[emoji638] wrote: If we can turn donkeys into gold I'm always happy to do it

You're also not getting a decent striker for the money we have to spend this late in the windowStirlingBlue wrote: ↑Thu Aug 21, 2025 6:04 am It’s a shit market to try and replace a striker right now as a lot of clubs are also looking after losing their own (Brentford, Newcastle etc) and most have already moved
