Re: Manager Merry-Go-Round
They've had polls for the next manager on their fan channels and Dyche was a distant third behind Silva and Mancini.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Mon Oct 20, 2025 8:14 am Most of the comments on the forum i read seem quite positive about it. Id fucking love it if they got relegated. Think they are in serious psr trouble just by the amount they've spent. Must be plenty of players regretting choosing forest in the summer
Now that it's been reported it's almost certainly going to be Dyche, lots of them are trying to talk themselves into it (human nature I suppose). You're seeing comments like ''he actually did amazingly well at Everton, we're in a relegation battle'' etc. We've seen the copium in our fanbase when similar things happen. There were people who gaslit everyone into thinking Benitez, Allardyce and Dyche were good appointments and just what we needed.
(Just for clarity Dyche was and is horrible, but I fully acknowledge he was much better than Benitez and he did a decent job at the start with us).
But the ones with a brain are saying ''hang on we've only had 8 games this season, we've got a very talented squad and his football will be bad for our players, he will be horrible to watch, imagine him managing in Europe'' etc etc.
Re: Manager Merry-Go-Round
Gibbs-White must be seething after having the Spurs move blocked and now has to watch the ball flying over his head every few minutes
Re: Manager Merry-Go-Round
He'll be spending most of the game holding hands with a fullback I imagine. Not sure they have the wingers to do want Dyche wants actually.
Might come in for Dwight in January

Re: Manager Merry-Go-Round
Pretty much certain its dyche now. Seems like utter madness (though I wouldn't be surprised if he did okay)
The owner wanted a change of style which probably led to their last, successful manager being sacked. What? 8 weeks later they are appointing a worse manager who plays worse football. No clue how hes managed to fall into such a job

Having a read through a Forest forum, I'm astounded how positive they are, it will be interesting to see what that are all thinking in a month's time...
Alot of their fans disregarding the first half of last season as a "blip" completely ignoring how he told the board he couldn't take us any further and how Moyes turned it around overnight with the same players.
I doubt they will get relegated as they have too many players capable of getting him out if jail. But those seemingly oblivious fans are in for a very rough ride.

My favourite comment was MGW being given a free role in the number 10 to create. The lad will spend most of his time stood in front of the RB in his own halfRobioto wrote: ↑Mon Oct 20, 2025 11:34 am Having a read through a Forest forum, I'm astounded how positive they are, it will be interesting to see what that are all thinking in a month's time...

Re: Manager Merry-Go-Round
I think the idea behind what they’ve done is vaguely correct (in a vacuum).
Nuno is good at what he does but his approach has a well-defined ceiling. You can only punish teams on the break when they come onto to you. He tends to drop a lot of points because his teams can’t break down poorer sides who prioritize defensive structure over everything else.
On the other hand:
1. If you want to change the style to something more ambitious, why not sack the manager over the summer?
2. If you’re already banging your head against the PSR ceiling, it’s probably not the right time for a major evolution of style.
3. Agent-driven recruitment of players and managers is usually going to end in disaster.
There’s something to be said for being proactive but what they’ve done has been reckless. All the elements are there for an embarrassing relegation, just a matter of who else is bad.

Re: Manager Merry-Go-Round
It'll be exactly the same arc as it was with us.
He'll do ok initially, make them solid and they'll despise him within a year and want anyone who lives in the 21st century to replace him.

Re: Manager Merry-Go-Round
Not so sure you know. Forest fans are a proper funny bunch. Proper knuckle draggers, so they may well fall in love with Meat & Potatoes Dycheball. He's a local lad too, so he'll fit in really well with the Brexiteer inbreds down there.Bluedylan1 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 20, 2025 1:41 pm It'll be exactly the same arc as it was with us.

Re: Manager Merry-Go-Round
Is it a sign of the times that the fan base is more inclined to keep a rich owner happy than stand up to a string of poor decisions.
