Well no but we wouldn't be paying 30m and 200k a week for dan james
But we would have shit player with no end product who struggles to produce !!
I never get the cost of purchase or wages paid when discussing the merits of a player……
I personally think he's been class and like watching a different breed of animal to what we're used to. I also do not think he's the type of player who will get lots and lots of end product without support around him, or that he's the type of player we'd have described if we were all asked what we needed. (Maybe I would have as he's basically the M&S Iwobi).
That said...I love watching him personally so if we can make it happen idgaf anymore make it happen. We've made worse mistakes for worse players, just let me watch someone who can actually kick a ball for a few years please I'll take it.
Can also understand the grief the ground gets. Its dead, it's empty if we're getting pumped, it's cold, it's miles away, it's got too many posh people. There was a road man toxic masculinity sreamer sat in front of me when I went (admittedly in the prawn sarnie seats). There is going to be some constructive feedback!

Can sort of understand all points involved here.

Couldn’t agree more (apart from the Iwobi quote ha ha) but we all, have our favourite players…..
For years we’ve screamed out for a player like jack….now we’ve got one…let’s gets rid…ffs….he needs better players around him to bring out the very best in him…..which in turn brings out the best in them……
As a team we’ve got a poor left back… a centre half at right back….our best midfielder now out till February…..and he has to supply a “striker” whose probably the worst we’ve ever had….and a young lad settling into a new country a new club a new team a new league…..ye let’s have a pop at jack…….

Who's had a pop at Grealish, I don't think I've seen a single person blame him for anything at all.

I'm sorry are you talking to me? Which of my points are you responding to?

I think the idea is you get a good player with the right profile (fast direct) rather than a good player with the wrong profile.

I’m agreeing with all your points re jack grealish….and offering my opinion against those opinions saying we shouldn’t keep him….especially re the finances.

What the fucks happening?? You want a right back?? What a 38 year old right back whos always injured.... we've had that before. No a good winger who also solves our chronic lack of pace

I haven’t read the whole thread just the gist of the conversation from people…
Probably needs to read it properly tbh, everyone seems to be in agreement that Grealish is class but the discussion is more nuanced around his fit for this team and our fit for him as a player.

Ah okay yeah.
I was thinking when I was reading your post - I feel like we agree here why is he having a go at me
He's not any sort of problem. He's a massive positive.
He's the highest in the entire league for open play chances created (a much better metric than assists) with 16. The next after him are Gakpo and Bruno F. with 13.
As others have said, it's a number of the other players that need to massively raise their levels (or be replaced in the near future).

I said we need a right back…..never mentioned an 38 year old whose always injured….but if that suits your narrative to create an argument go ahead…..also a left back….also a striker who hits the ground running scoring goals….and I’d sooner keep jack cost and all….and like I said bring in positions that strengthen the team that will bring out the best of him…to bring out the best of them….
Even you must see the logic in that….but what the hey…..
