I went with 8, but only because I think there are a couple of levels above, ie Lukaku/Baines 9 and Big Nev 10.

If we allowed half marks, he'd be 7.5 for me. I don't know why but as a kid he was always in my slightly lower echelon of the Baines, Jags, Cahill period compared to the very, very top tier (spoiler: Baines). He clearly did well for us, but I just had other favourites at the time.

Really disappointing how he's been since he left, and that probably colours my rating too. It feels like he scribbled out his time with us on his CV and just highlights his time at Arsenal and Man City.

Anthony Gordon and his silly branded headband aside, probably amongst the ex-players that disappoint me the most.

To be fair to him he went on to win things at Arsenal and learned his coaching from Pep. He does speak well about us when he's interviewed he's just a wind up and that's hard to ignore

Based on my criteria for Ross, I think Arteta just makes it in to the 8 category. He was brilliant for 2 and half seasons, the best of the Moyes era alongside Baines. He could probably have picked his club but always seemed loyal. Then that knee ligament injury against Newcastle really fucked him. In the end the move to Arsenal didnt ruin the fans, which I think it would have done pre-injury.

A 9 from me too, was gutted to lose him and wanted him when we got Ancelotti.
Loved the triangles of play with him, Baines, Pienaar and Osman.
I hope we’re his next stop after Arsenal.

Arteta with 8.36 rating in the end.

For Burnley, he had one season there, David Unsworth is up next. I'm going to sit this one out because I only really saw the end of his time here.

On the pich, a 6 for me. He was versatile, CB or FB, think he had 1 england cap v... USA? Scored in Moyes 1st game, good club man, left and said he changed his mind and immediately came straight back didnt he, caretaker manager... can't really ask for a better servant.

Yeah as a footballer a 6, but a good 6 but I'll nudge him up 1 to 7, as he is just a top bloke and bleeds blue.

Ah shit already went for 6. :D
