He talked about it in the post-match press conference.

He wasn't planning to play Jarrad left back, until Myko's injury on Friday but he went with that option to combat their threat.

And in terms of playing Armstrong where we did, he said he was technically playing wide, but he asked him to tuck in centrally more and that we wanted an extra midfielder to combat Brighton's ability to play centrally through the pitch.

He also stressed that Villa and Everton are the only teams who have won at Brighton in the past year, so it's a very difficult place to come and get a result.

I’m not up for sacking him, like I said before, but also still not up for renewing either.

I know some folk will think this knee-jerk from yesterday, but it honestly isn’t- please don’t worry about my ACLs or whatever.

I get he’s got us in a great position for such a dysfunctional squad, and understand why people are backing him, but I am still looking forward to getting someone progressive in.

He’s frustrating the hell out of me at the moment but definitely don’t want him sacked. As for renewing, not sure I’d be too against that either. I’d like to see us firmly established as top 8 or thereabouts before we move on and I think Moyes is capable of that. Reason being I think our squad is too fragile (and could be for a while longer) to risk a new guy settling in and we could quite easily drop to previous season’s levels.

I'm not sure we're really in a position to be expecting or asking more than that tbh... He's doing absolutely enough with an unbalanced squad.

More than happy for him to stay here for a few more years yet and continue to build some great foundations to then progress from.

The grass isn't always greener, West Ham are fantastic example of this.

I want Moyes to have a proper squad with higher quality than it has. He will want all of the same things we do - fullbacks that can bomb on, line splitting passes from his centre backs and midfielders, a forward that can finish consistently well, wingers who can burst past their man etc.

But building an entire squad full of quality and options will take a decent amount of time, several transfer windows one would suspect.

Once he has a high quality squad, if for whatever reason he underperforms, then that’s the time to start talking about a replacement. But let him build a solid foundation for us to move forward. I trust Moyes to deliver good results in the coming season or two and we shouldn’t do anything to disrupt progress, as long as he wants to continue.

I'm a big fan of his, and I've made no secret of that, but I think you judge any manager on a season-by-season basis.

If we finish Top 10 this year, he's backed appropriately in the summer with money and the wheels come off early next season and we find ourselves hovering just above relegation say, then it's offski.

I don't think you can say about any manager, including Pep, that you give them a few seasons and see where it takes you. You have to keep proving yourself over and over again. It's the nature of the league. Yes, you can forgive a rough run of results if the manager has shown longterm ability to recover things, as Moyes has, but there's a limit with anyone.

It's his inclination to tinker with winning formulas which annoys the fanbase. We don't concede goals and we don't lose games with a centre half pairing of Tarkowski and JOB. It works, for whatever reason, but it works.

I understand him wanting to tinker with the rest as we need to find a way of creating things up top and finding the right balance in the centre. But stop going back to his favourites of Keane and Gana as a default and try and evolve the side. Both players are past their peak and on the way out so we need to be trying to find a way of creating a side without them.
