Man Utd have two legal entities, one of which doesn’t count towards PSR for some bizarre reasons

That’s simply a function of revenue generation, Man U generate approx five times our revenue so can spend five times more, we will be closing the gap in the coming years but unlikely we will ever match.

I know you were just making a general point, but per that list, they're actually spending 56 x more than we are...which seems bonkers for a team supposedly in the same league.

That’s because they are a publicly listed company and we are not. I think they operate on a Propco/Opco basis, so Capital expenditure is separate from operating company income.

And they may well be overspending, depends how they cook the books and whether the PL can be arsed charging them or not.
The principal remains the same, according to the rules you are only allowed to spend a certain percentage of your income.

Sure. I get that. Man United basically struck gold at the start of the PL era and have an insane spending power because of it.

Still think it's silly though that we use terms like "Financial fair play" when clubs in the same league are outspending others by 56 x or more and we're pretending it's a level playing field. It would be kinda funny if the pitches were physically tilted for each club to show what the imbalance actually is.

Tbh, makes sense. As fans, I guess we all want to see developments and signings happen asap but the summer window is always the main one where serious long term signings and work is largely done. I’m content with that plan

True but unfortunately in the modern game, there are leagues within leagues.
