The man is clearly a huge influence, but his on -field, in-game contributions are almost at zero, so his wages need to reflect that if we're to move away from being a basket case charity club.

I'm all for that but only if he fits the bill for coaching skills/potential. The U18s should be treated with high priority, it's where we can generate talent and money.

Absolutely. I'm not talking about jobs for the boys here. I'm talking about him having his coaching badges and everything. Think his passion would be amazing around the youngsters and would have a really positive effect on them.

Talking of captains, Seamus maybe can't be described as full time captain after this season.

Time to hand over the armband, he has worn it successfully, honourably and respectfully (despite injury) dragging the club through some of our darkest recent seasons almost by his essence alone. Well done that man.

In order of preference, and over the next few seasons I'd go as follows:

1. Tarkowski, until season's end (he's a 'director' but not fully a leader IMO)

2. KDH (has it in spades)

3. O'Brien (not before 2027/28, but can see it in him, a mature and physically imposing presence, if not yet overly vocal, similar character to Coleman)

4. Branthwaite (can see it happening as an enticement to stay, not ideal unless he becomes our best player by a distance)

5. Armstrong (not before 2029/30)

Pickford permanent VC until retirement.

I think when you watch the way KDH interacts with the other players it's clear he's a great character and potential leader.

He always there grabbing the guy who's assisted the scorer and giving them a massive amount of praise, and clearly understands the importance of team play.

For me he's the most likely captain after Tarks.

Seamus was excellent in a wing back role got tired in extra time to be expected but his positioning and defending was very good Jake was good too gave away a few free kicks but solid enough absolutely gutted this morning threw the game away
