Re: Beto
The pace, power and tenacity in him is outrageous. I feel like uncultured swine when I say this, but I kinda like watching him play when he’s given semblance of service.
Worst player on the planet when the side isn’t set up to play to his strengths.

A really athletic, tenacious striker who gets shots off will always always get the time of day from me.Bob Sacamano wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 10:34 pm The pace, power and tenacity in him is outrageous. Re: Beto
Not at all, I'd much rather he'd slotted at least one and I'd be revelling in another win.Silas wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 10:23 pm Let's be honest with each other, you are revelling in him missing them a bit though because it helps you win the argument you are having.
Talking about the lad like he's been here for years like Calvert Lewin. He's not a known quantity for us so he deserves some slack to see if he's good enough
He also was at fault for their goal because he mistimed his leap which caused the melee. Also Lindstrom at fault for the second phase it should be added.
I don't want to 'win' an argument about Beto, I just think he's too much of a 'spin the wheel and see what you'll get this game' player and I can't be arsed with it again next season.
Re: Beto
No he missed 3 one on ones, what weird world are we living in if we don't count them as that?

Re: Beto
It's a bit much to reappraise him after every performance. Flekken did really well. If that were Pickford we'd be praising him from the rooftops.
Yes, he'll be disappointed not to score, but we've seen that he can absolutely finish in those situations and so there's no need for a huge post mortem.
His general play is coming on leaps and bounds and as I've said before, CBs are having a really hard time dealing with him and that's a huge tick.

Re: Beto
I know you haven’t ever criticised Pickford, my point is the goalkeeper also played a part in Beto not scoring, it wasn’t an open goal.
Re: Beto
While I understand that any striker with the position we are in is a spin the wheel and see what you get striker. We need an improvement but we also need depth and he's earning his chances to stay here while we look to move forward.AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 10:47 pm Not at all, I'd much rather he'd slotted at least one and I'd be revelling in another win.
