He's contacted to Chelsea though so unless it's all signed and sealed I don't see what he can do.
Run down his contract? Oh wait...

What’s really ridiculous is they’ll treat him like shit and basically say you’re not good enough for us, and then put an eighty million price tag on him

Moving to Chelsea is like selling your soul to the devil. I have zero sympathy for any players who take the money and get caught up in their soulless trafficking ring disguised as a football club.

Agree but also I think players, especially young ones get shafted by their agents too giving them terrible advice because they'll make loads of money every time that player moves.

If you're an agent it's not in your best interest for a client to stay at say Fulham and develop by playing regularly. You know you'll make a tonne of money on their transfer to Chelsea and then another wedge when they move on again two years later after hardly kicking a ball.

I'd imagine a lot of young players are represented by agents who have absolutely no interest in the well being of their client's careers.

What is wrong with these players.

He’s a no mark who’d be shite at Newcastle anyway.

Get on with it ffs

He's 28, has one chance to move to a champions league team but instead is looking like he'll have to stay at a club who sold all their other good players and employed their set piece coach as manager. I'd be desperate to get away too.

Shit for their fans but also I feel the way Brentford are on probably a serious slide after many good seasons for a team their size that it's understandable he wants to move to Newcastle tbh.

Come on Andy, you can't behave like that. You sign the contract, get on the fucking pitch for the club playing you.

If Brentford wanted him gone I doubt he'd go "Oh okay, fair enough. Forget about about the contract" and go take a 50k per week pay reduction to go somewhere else.

Can't remember a summer with so many players chucking their toys out the pram. It's only going to get worse as well.

No I agree posting stuff on social media is really poor and I'd be livid if one of ours did that.

I just also think from his point of view leaving for Newcastle is his last chance to play in the Champions League and staying at a sinking ship instead would be highly unpalatable.

I'd want that move if I were him, but going about it this way is really poor.

Hopefully we benefit from a few of these clubs having shit seasons dealing with drama.

I have to say, I don't real feel any sort of moral outrage about players kicking up a fuss and wanting to leave. Clubs treat players as expendable when it suits them. All's fair in love and transfers.
