So 2025 club world cup , 2026 WC and 2028 the Euros. Just find some new tourney for 2027. Games all throughout summer not more breaks . Bring it on .

Interesting bit in the Guardian football weekly about this, just underlining how much this is going fuck with some of the smaller leagues around the world.

It's basically going to be doing what the Champions League did to a good number of teams and cement wealth at the top of multiple smaller leagues around the world for some time to come in all likelihood when they're pulling in x30 times what they'd get for winning their own league just by showing up to this tournament.

I feel this is likely by design. I think they'd be happy if all countries boiled their fan bases down to a small hand full of teams.

The Sports Washed Cup, sponsored by Saudi Arabia

Surprised Newcastle didn’t get an invite to play

It's fucking bollocks and my plan is not to watch it, unless it turns out really good in which case I may have a look.

Tbh I'm massively enjoying a break from footy at the moment, apart from following what we're doing in the transfer marker and starting to get excited about my seat at BMD next year. With being a junior footy coach it's pretty full on for 9/10 months a year so I really enjoy having a break and no major tournament to watch.

Quite happy not to watch any football for a while now. Have only seen the England-Senegal match (for Gana/Ndiaye) since the CL final and don't intend to watch anything else until probably someone in our pre-season.

Don't think I love football enough for more than that and tbh I think it's a decent break for most people.

But did Messi sell a record number of shirts?! That’s what’s important

LOL, just turned on to Bayern vs Auckland to see what's up as it's a free stream...joined at 20 mins in and it's 4-0 already.

Bit of a joke really.

Joke , what's the purpose, 10-0. And they want to expand this in 4yrs . Some absolute pointless games

Players looked like right gimps celebrating a 3rd goal in 20mins against Auckland like it’s a CL semi final. Asked it off and decided I’m gonna use this break to watch as much of the U21 tournament as possible.

As much as I can be bothered to read about this glorified pre-season tourney:
