So you think we're going to be spending money this window to strengthen right? Yeah highly unlikely.

Which leaves one window, so if you think we're going to be significantly strong enough to cope with Europe and the league I'm going to give you a clue as to who is the dipshit... and it ain't me.
Why do you think it will be so hard?

This is just the same as don’t replace dyche because all the players are rubbish anyway.

Don’t qualify for europe because we won’t have the squad for it.

That isn’t how it works at all.

You get into Europe and make yourself competitive from there.

Palace are 5th in the league after selling their best player and having a very quiet window.

We’d be fine.

here we go (after the arsenal game tho)
Would be an incredible achievement for this season on our striker’s current form

Marcus Bent barely scored a goal and we finished 4th. An anomaly I know but it happens

I think people are missing the point, not everything is black or white.

Some are just saying that yeah Europe would be great and it's be an amazing achievement after the past few seasons, but if you just take out the emotion and look at it logically building slowly and incrementally would probably be better for the long term plan of being a regular top 7 team.

No one is saying they don't want Europe exactly, just acknowledging that there's a high possibility we struggle with the demands if we make it too soon as the squad is paper thin, and we won't be able to address that properly in the summer.

If we made Europe this season I think everyone would be delighted, but it's worth highlighting that it maybe doesn't help us build in a sustainable way that maybe achieving it in 18 months time instead would.

After the recent turmoil at the club we need to consider how we want to change things to be less of a struggle moving forward, and pretty much everyone wanted a slow and steady sustainable progression once we survived last year... I don't think anything has changed on that front, but obviously if we made Europe this season that's also great for different reasons, and we'd all be fully in to the excitement of playing in Europe again after all this time.

God forbid people don’t have your level of intellect and just want a bit of European football.

Bit of a daft reply that, are we only allowed to look at things in 5 year old basic levels of intelligence on here?

Apologies if actually weighing up the pros and cons of Europe next season is too high brow for you 🤨

It just doesn't warrant a dissertation on the merits of European qualification.

We get your points and their probably is some validity in them but it's just football. Win games, get a bit of success, enjoy it, deal with whatever comes along with it, move on.

Yeah we don't need scientific analysis here.

Europe would be incredible right now. Not in 3 years but next season, European tours, passport songs at Bramley Moore.

Were footy fans, we want to win games and have a good time, we don't need to go to school to discect it all the time.

God forbid someone want to discuss if the timing might come with some negatives. He's already said he wants it.

Whilst we’re discussing Europe, it’s back to just the top four is it for champions league?

Think its 5 every season for the 2 best performing countries. So we won't know until late in the season if thats England or not

God forbid someone just wants to poke the forum crank for a bit of light relief.

I'm sure the irony of posting purely to poke someone you claim to be a crank is lost on you.

I don't think we'll be realistically worrying the European places anyway this season. We were on a decent run but Afcon and KDH injury has knocked us for 6.
